Housing payments stay between renter and host

Subletly does not collect, hold, schedule, refund, or transfer rent or security deposits. Stripe remains available for Subletly identity verification and separately approved membership billing—not housing funds.

Before money changes hands

  1. 1Confirm the other party's identity and the property information available on Subletly.
  2. 2Put the dates, rent, lawful deposit, fees, cancellation terms, and access plan in a written agreement.
  3. 3Make sure the recipient name and payment instructions match the person or business in the agreement.
  4. 4Use a traceable method that produces a receipt, and retain your agreement, messages, and receipts.
  5. 5Stop and report requests for secrecy, gift cards, cryptocurrency, cash-only payment, or a last-minute recipient change.

What Subletly support can do

Subletly can preserve platform messages and records, review a safety report, provide general guidance, and direct users to appropriate resources. Subletly does not guarantee a refund, hotel, reimbursement, replacement housing, or the outcome of a dispute between the parties.
